Instructions for Use

WARNING: Use extreme care when handling. Shucking blade is very sharp and can cause injuries. Handle as you would handle a knife. Always wear a protective glove when shucking.

Please wash with hot soapy water and dry thoroughly before use. When washing, treat the shucking blade as if you were washing a sharp knife. Do not wash in an automatic dishwasher as it will damage the finish.

To use, place the oyster or clam in the guide slot with the opening in the shell facing up as shown in the photo below.

Position the sharp edge of the sucking blade in the heel of the shell so that the blade is approximately centered on the opening.

Grab the handle at the far end and apply downward force. The further towards the end that you grip the handle, the easier it will be to open the shell. Once the shell has opened, using caution, remove the meat using a knife.
